NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan , located on First Avenue & 97th Street in Manhattan, accommodate over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

Responsibilities:Responsibilities:
Clinical:
— General ophthalmologist to teach and supervise residents, medical students, and junior members of the medical staff in diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye diseases and conditions in hospital-based outpatient clinic setting.
— Option to add panel for specialty eye clinics (based on individual specialty, training, and experience).
— Rotating weekly on-call schedule to be shared amongst all clinic providers

Surgical:
— Comfortable performing, teaching, and supervising cataract and pterygium surgeries.
— Comfortable performing, teaching, and supervising anterior segment lasers.
— Additional specialty surgeries optional (based on individual specialty, training, and experience).

Qualifications:Qualifications:

ABMS BC/BE in Ophthalmology
NYS license in good standing
Experience in surgical ophthalmology
Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population
