Position Summary:

Manager of Financial Operations will report to the VP, General Manager of the Higher Education Courseware into K12 list. You will manage all functional aspects for this group in order to deliver all of the necessary financial, supply chain, and reporting requirements of this group are successfully achieved. The person in this role will coordinate frequently with 3rd party organization, Savvas Learning, who is our U.S. selling agent in the K12 education space, related to the tasks noted above.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management of Pearson’s intellectual property sold by 3rd party organization, Savvas Inc., to include leadership of all operational issues in support of this relationship to include fulfillment/planning of customer orders, review of financial transactions, establishment of product setups aligned to both systems, successful consignment ordering, etc.
Key stakeholder for Pearson as Gatekeeper of the Sales Accord between Pearson and Savvas, including all addendums to the original accord. Reviews school contract and RFP language bid by Savvas, following contract protocols.
Development/review of reporting for daily sales, annual/quarterly fiscal sales budgets, customer-level back-order, WIP, and invoiced transactions, print vs. digital sales analysis, strategic plan revenues, Revel digital courseware sales, and sales by state reporting.
Lead in the development/review of the S&OP sales and sample forecast for Pearson’s Logility sales demand planning system annually, updated monthly, based upon market conditions.
Review of ASCP planning requirements for procurement of physical goods with Supply Chain leads, including all package assemblies to market.
Lead in monthly forecast meetings with Savvas for sales opportunities via salesforce.com opportunities across academic and employability lists. Determine impact on annual forecasts.
Key stakeholder with Corporate Accounting / Reporting for management of the posting of sales and operating costs, management of cash collections, freight recovery, payments to 3rd party sales team (Savvas).
Manage the customer service relationships within Pearson and those of the Savvas organization; manage escalation of customer dissonance issues, management of customer SLA’s.
Departmental expense budgeting and tracking for academic/employability.
Quarterly analysis of the consignment due to/from accounts between Pearson and Savvas.
Review all sources of transactions associated with Pearson’s access code elimination project are recorded to specification. Provide Savvas reports for crediting monthly for sales booked directly by Pearson.
Key stakeholder in conversion of customer digital courseware access from paper delivery to digital, partnering with Savvas.
Development/Review of publishing plan within acceptable corporate hurdle rates; perform quarterly tracking and NRV analysis, as required.
Review/approve destroy transactions twice per annum with Supply Chain No America. Review all customer/consignment returns with Supply Chain No America monthly/quarterly.
Management/Budget of Savvas people with Pearson systems rights, with the Pearson IT solutions team.
Monitoring of Pearson VUE sales of employability titles in the School K12 space. Identify monies quarterly due Savvas and Pearson No America are recorded properly.
Quarterly review of LMS opportunities impacting Pearson and Savvas. Adherence to Pearson protocols established.
Semi-annual review of school contracts is aligned between Pearson and Savvas.
Key Functional Interactions:

Pearson: Customer Service, Supply Chain North America, Pearson VUE/Certiport LOB, Royalties.
Savvas (3rd Party seller): Customer Service, Sales Business Office; Line Marketing, Contracts/RFP department.
Qualifications

Requirements/Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong systems knowledge and capabilities to include Oracle ERP, Oracle EBS, business data warehouse applications, salesforce.com, Microsoft suite of applications.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management or a related field.
Experience with financial reporting and supply chain preferred.
Experience with complex budgets, systems integrations, and data management.
Experience managing complex inventories and inventory control procedures.
Experience with account analysis and account management.
Solid understanding of procurement, distribution, domestic shipping operations, in a publishing environment preferred.
