Mount Sinai is a leading healthcare system providing the highest quality care throughout the New York metro area. Our team, Consumer Digital, is driving Mount Sinai’s technological transformation. Our mission is to help patients, staff, and providers get better outcomes through our software platform.

Why join?
From Day 1, you will have a significant impact on the experiences of patients, staff, and providers at a major health system during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will work on meaningful, complex problems involving technology and clinical operations. You will own core parts of the digital experience, such as patient communications, chat, telehealth visits, scheduling, health data management, and care management.

Responsibilities?
Lead the design process from start-to-finish and partner closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to drive results.
Design digital experiences for patients, staff, and providers; understand clinical workflows and operations, document them, and learn how our digital tools can help.
Discover, define, and validate the most impactful problems to solve.
Drive research practices, including user interviews, market research, and surveying.
Explore various solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, and communicate design decisions.
Validate designs by creating and testing wireframes, mockups, prototypes, conducting usability testing, and getting feedback from users and stakeholders.
Deliver pixel-perfect design specifications and pair with developers to get features implemented.
Build, measure, and learn to ensure iterative improvements to increase user satisfaction.
Build design systems and lead practices that will improve the productivity and the satisfaction of all designers.
Minimum qualifications?
Experienced: 1-2+ years of direct experience as a product designer of enterprise or consumer software products. Led and executed the design process from start-to-finish many times. Experienced with problem and solution space practices.
Results-driven: Detail-oriented problem solver with a strong bias for getting stuff done. Able to balance competing needs and constraints, prioritize most impactful problems to solve, and drive measurable results.
Effective communicator: Focused, insightful, and succinct; able to speak with anyone, from engineers to physicians to executives, in a compelling manner. You have advanced social-emotional skills.
Entrepreneurial: You are comfortable operating with ambiguity, change, and unending problem solving.
Proof-Oriented: You can balance feedback and defense of design choices in an evidence-based manner.
Tools: Proficient in modern design tools, including Figma or Sketch
Bonus points?

Full-stack designer: You can seamlessly switch between all types of design, such as visual, interaction, info, conceptual, service, experience, and brand.
Experienced in healthcare: You have experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with a health system or clinical operations.
User research and analytical skills: Experienced with qualitative research techniques and analytics.
Demonstrated Leader: You have mentored other designers or created design systems.
Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree relevant to design
