Full Job Description
Overview:Performs a variety of executive, administrative and management functions for a judiciary of Fort Bend County. Responsible for carrying out the District and County Courts’ mission and goals and those administrative duties of the courts that are established by statue, local rule, or inherent power of the courts under the general direction of the Administrative District Judge and Administrative County Court at Law Judge. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Responsibilities:Evaluates pending caseloads, caseload trends, and calendaring methods of the courts plans, schedules, and makes judicial assignments as directed by the Administrative District Judge. Assists in the management of the daily operations of the district and county courts in coordination with the Administrative District Judge and the Administrative County Court at Law Judge. Coordinates and manages court services, including but not limited to problem-solving courts, family and children services, court assistance and mediation efforts. Assists in the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and supervision of employees as required. Assists in the establishment and communicates district and county court personnel standards, practices and policies. Acts as liaison between the courts and state, county, and local governmental agencies and departments. Fosters productive relationships with county and local officials to secure sufficient funding for the operations of the courts. Plans, develops, and implements long and short range policies, goals, objectives and priorities for the District and County Courts. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Judicial Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field. Five years of progressively responsible experience working in court management, judicial administration or related field with responsibilities including implementation and oversight of programs including three years of supervisory experience. Strong computer skills, verbal and written communication and organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
SALARY RANGE: Professional/Management – Commensurate with experience and education
