We are searching for a Security Officer – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will protect the staff, patients, visitors and assets of Texas Children’s Hospital. To support Texas Children’s Hospital by providing a visible first line security presence; efficiently handling customer inquiries, requests for assistance, and ensuring smooth traffic flow. To respond to and assist with emergencies and disasters.

Provides security functions at designated posts during varying hours and shifts
Provides proactive customer service functions to employees and visitors of the hospital. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Carries out responsibilities in a firm but courteous manner, seeking to invoke a willing response from visitors and employees
Completes Daily Activity Reports (DAR), Incident and TCH Online reports as required by hospital and departmental procedures
On occasion the Protection Officer will be asked to perform physical tasks to support the Security Systems Team with installations, cable pulls, and other related task
Trains for and responds to disaster situations in the hospital to include visitor management functions, emergency lockdown, perimeter patrol and other emergency job functions
High school diploma or GED required
NCSO – Noncommission Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Private Security Board, acquired within 90 days of entering the role required
TDR – Texas Driver’s License State of Texas, acquired by the later of 06/30/19 or within 90 days of entering the role required
1 year of Security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience required
A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for the 1 year of required security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience
